What to Expect
Ahead of your first session, I will share email links to electronic intake forms for you to complete in advance. I will also separately email you specific directions with photos and links for finding my office, which is inside The Center for Classical 5 Element Acupuncture.
I am no longer wearing masks in session, but am happy to do so if requested.
During each session, we will spend some time talking about why you are seeking care, so I can assess how I can best support you. Knowing your intention for your session is of utmost importance to me. I also explain what I see as the approach I will offer, making sure it fits with your goals. Most of my massage sessions are offered with a treatment lens, so as to address specific issues, such as areas of pain and tension, to allow the most relief from the work we do together. I keep talking to a minimum though I may ask questions throughout the session, and you are welcome to do so too. I constantly seek insights into what might further support you, so I may offer some suggestions for self-care or referrals to other care providers for you to consider.
Reiki is done with you fully clothed, so be sure to wear comfortable clothing. Your massage sessions can also be done with you fully clothed, and we can discuss your preferences at the time of your session.
Regarding insurance billing, I am an in-network provider, but only with First Choice Health Network. This allows FCHN subscribers and some KaiserPermanente insurance subscribers (those with PPO plans) to see me as an in-network provider. This is the only plan for which I can direct bill insurance. For all others, I offer superbill receipts, which may be used to seek reimbursement based on the details of your out-of-network coverage. A prescription for massage is required for in-network massage, superbill receipts, and for those who wish to pay using their HSA funds. Reiki is not covered by insurance.
